THE BACKYARD
Growing up in Miami, I’ve always felt the tension between acceleration and erosion, between the city’s frantic expansion and the quiet, vulnerable ecosystems that surround it. As a windsurfer, my relationship to the ocean, wind, and coastline is deeply spiritual; it grounds me in forces that are both chaotic and patient. This sensitivity to environment and ephemerality returns in the materials I choose; spray paint, sand surfaces, untreated canvas echoing the textures of wind, water, and sand that shaped me.
My practice emerges from a collage of nostalgia, materiality, and a playful critique of how we move through both digital and natural worlds. I collect and hoard images and objects to imbue. The unrefined edges, raw textures, and ephemeral digital memory collide in a way that feels both sacred and disposable, challenging how we value the things we consume visual media.
